May marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that healing isn’t always visible. After a traumatic brain injury, the road back can carry more than just physical recovery. For many of us, it includes mental health challenges that others may never see.

Brain injuries are often called “invisible,” and that couldn’t be more true. What looks like strength on the outside can come from navigating battles behind the scenes, quietly, persistently, and with more resilience than most people realize.

This journey changed me in ways I never expected. It taught me patience, perspective, and how powerful the mind really is. And while not every part of the process is visible, every step forward matters.

If you’re walking a path others can’t fully see, keep going. There’s more strength in that than words can capture. 🧠💚

Brain Injury Awareness Day 🧠💙
It was a privilege to travel to Washington, D.C. with the Brain Injury Association of America and Brain Injury Florida, representing The Blue Project, to advocate for the reauthorization of the Traumatic Brain Injury Act and the development of a National Brain Injury Action Plan.

These legislative efforts are critical to the brain injury community, especially in Florida. Continued funding of the TBI Act supports Administration for Community Living (ACL) grants that have strengthened statewide infrastructure, including the work of Florida’s Brain Injury Advisory Board (which I am honored to serve on) and the development and implementation of Florida’s Brain Injury State Action Plan, a collaborative effort I have had the privilege of helping shape. These initiatives also make it possible to expand neuroresource facilitation services that connect individuals and families to essential care and support.

The establishment of a National Brain Injury Action Plan would further create a more unified standard of care across the country, equipping healthcare providers to more effectively recognize, diagnose, and treat brain injuries that too often go undetected.

This marks my third year attending Brain Injury Awareness Day in D.C., and each visit deepens my gratitude for the opportunity to share my story with our nation’s leaders and contribute to meaningful progress for this community. Change is happening, and I am incredibly honored to be part of it.

I’m truly speechless. What an honor it is to be Miss Tampa 2025 and the recipient of a $7000 scholarship. This title has been a dream of mine for a long time. I grew up dancing in Tampa at Next Generation Ballet and am now a student at the University of South Florida. Tampa is the city that has been the launching pad for me to pursue all of my dreams: a professional ballet dancer, a future neuropsychiatrist, and now the opportunity to compete for my dream of becoming Miss Florida. There is no greater city I would want to wear across my chest and have the opportunity to serve throughout this year! ♥️

I would be remiss if I did not thank Mr. Bob Clark, Ms. Patty, the entire Miss Tampa Board, and our incredible sponsors. This local is all that it is because of you all and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside you this year!

Ensuring our society has healthy hearts is so important because cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women and with @missamerica ‘s new partnership with the AHA, it was extra special to be in attendance! One of the coolest (& most sparkly) parts of the evening was getting to help with live auction of this beautiful diamond bracelet! Thank you to @american_heart for all that you do! ♥️

After spending time with @peaceloveleotards advocating that dreams not be cost prohibitive and advocating for the importance of chasing one’s dreams, I decided to create a podcast specifically dedicated to that idea.

I’ve pursued and continue to pursue some very large dreams and aspirations and I wanted a platform where I could encourage others to do the same.

The Dreamer’s Guide (TDG) tells the stories of current & future dreamers as well as those whose dreams have already become reality. TDG’s mission is to inspire the next generation of dreamers and provide our listeners with specific insight on how to go after their goals! It truly is the podcast for the next generation of dreamers!

Last week I was able to do one of my favorite things - support my girlies following their dreams!! Both Kady and Faith are like younger sisters to me and had their respective competitions in Orlando this week so of course I had to go watch! @kady.mckennaa - you shined so bright on the Teen Miss Earth USA stage! You’re gorgeous, intelligent, and kind - the whole package! I’m so proud of you and your hard work! Love you forever! Last week I was able to do one of my favorite things - support my girlies following their dreams!! Both Kady and Faith are like younger sisters to me and had their respective competitions in Orlando this week so of course I had to go watch! @kady.mckennaa - you shined so bright on the Teen Miss Earth USA stage! You’re gorgeous, intelligent, and kind - the whole package! I’m so proud of you and your hard work! Love you forever! (The youngest contestant and TOP 10 - WHOOP!!) @faith.eva.marie.dances - watching you grow as a dancer and person brings the biggest smile to my face!! You’re beautiful inside and out with an unmatched work ethic! Thank you for letting me be your big sis in pageants, dance, and life! Love you immensely! (2nd Overall and Breakout Artist Runner Up - you KILLED it!!) Thankful for the Miss Florida Scholarship Program for bringing us all together! 💓👑

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my fierce firecracker, pageant bestie, goober, mini me, sunshine princess, and dancing queen, Faith(ie)!! I’m so grateful that God placed you into my life - what fun we have had in such a short amount of time! From supporting each other in our dance adventures and pageants to making tiktok dance videos, ordering (virgin) strawberry daiquiris, and laughing a whole ton, we’ve made so many memories and I can’t wait to make more!! (nyc soon… right mom and Ms. Leigh?!! 👀) You are so incredibly talented, kind, and hard working and I know you will do incredible things in your life, you already have!! Prelim Night 2:
Wow wow wow - I am incredibly blessed and honored to have received the preliminary talent award for Group B. Such a DREAM come true!!

As many of you know, this past November, I hit my head and sustained a severe concussion, which has ultimately caused me to put a pause on being able to dance professionally. The complications from the concussion over the past months caused me to face complications in and out of the ballet classroom. Additionally, about two weeks ago, I was practicing my talent, rolled my ankle, and heard a loud snap. I went to the doctor and found out I had a grade 2 sprain meaning my ligament is not only strained, but also slightly torn. Pushing through these complications have been extremely difficult, but have only made this preliminary win even more special.

Special shout-out to my mom for making my beautiful talent costume! I’m so incredibly grateful for everything you do for me and it was so special getting to wear something you made! Thank you also to Ms. Jackie for cutting my music perfectly! Thank you Ms. Ann Marie @annmariesboutique for my beautiful walk out gown!!

Even more special, I was able to share this win with my dear, amazing friend, @missgainesville2022 who is also my dressing room neighbor! I’m so proud of you Casana - you were amazing! Huge congrats to @alanascheuerer on your prelim win as well!!
